Support for Ella

As you are no doubt aware, Kyle went to be with Jesus on October 16 in a plane crash on the Yukon River near Russian Mission as he was flying to Bethel to pick up volunteers for Kako.

It is hard to overstate the impact that Kyle had on literally thousands of Y-K Delta youth. His enthusiasm and love for Christ shone through in the way he connected with them and the way they responded back. Kyle played a key role in the ministry team at Kako, early on as a summer camp counselor and then as the kids’ summer camp director. He had a heart and vision for expanding Kako’s reach into the villages beyond the summer program, and his passing leaves a tremendous void within our Kako family and the ministry Kako Retreat Center is committed to.

The Kako Board is also grieving with Kyle’s family and friends as they absorb the long term impact his death has on each of us.

Kyle’s wife Ella and their kids Kate and Lauren are left not only with emotional hurt, but also with financial needs. In order to facilitate meeting those financial needs, we encourage you to give through Warner Avenue Baptist Church, Kyle and Ella’s sending church, which is committed to helping Ella with the logistical, financial and emotional needs that she will have in the months and years ahead. You may send checks to
